Summary

• Add Legible AI-Assisted Expression as the public canonical Root Sequence principle: AI should reduce the cost of expression without reducing the visibility of thought.
• Distinguish human-originated contributions from AI-added inference, synthesis, transformation, and wording.
• Preserve factual support, uncertainty, alternatives, decision points, review state, and privacy boundaries.
• Route the concept through the nearest concepts index, Legible Systems, and the generated Idea Trail browser.

Why this belongs here

This is a shared cross-project design principle about accessibility, authorship, provenance, and inspectable automation. The public conceptual commons is the narrowest home that can maintain the general treatment; project-specific interfaces, disclosures, and tests remain with their projects.

Open questions

The page name, wording, design test, and proposed trace granularity remain open to author review. This draft does not claim that tooling can perfectly recover thought origins or that broader writing-assistance/provenance traditions originated in Root Sequence.
